Are you looking for a great shot that captures Lisbon’s essence? You’ve come to the right place!
Lisbon is beautiful for itself but part of you knows you always gotta find those insta-perfect spots! So, let us help you out with some suggestions of pictures you simply got ti take!

YELLOW TRAM AND ELEVATORS

Glória elevator

We all know that a yellow tram is one of the most famous symbols from Lisbon. They’ve been here forever, but despite of their age they are still bravely serving the capital. They’re mainly driving through hilly streets and they’re always packed with tourists and locals.

The most famous one is tram 28, since it passes through the neighborhoods of Alfama, Baixa and Estrela, which have plenty to see. You also have Glória elevator (The one on the picture), which goes up and down between Bairro Alto and Restauradores. Its path covers a street art gallery which is also an interesting view.

AZULEJOS

Streets of Bairro Alto

Tiles are pretty popular around here. They’re all 0ver the place and make each building colorful and unique. Each one is a small work of art because they are generally hand painted. To know more about this wonderful culture check this article.

WINDOWS WITH LAUNDRY HANGING

Bairro Alto

The most common way of drying laundry around here is the traditional: hanging it on metal strings on windows.  Even though this can seem a little weird (because literally, everyone will see everything – including underwear!) it’s a bit of an essence of Lisbon streets and honestly, it makes it quite quirky.

STREET ART

Street art in Lisbon has become very popular and more respected by visitors and locals. Beautiful pieces painted on walls can be seen in everywhere, and there’s a lot of artists getting famous for it, and that’s definitely a trend.

MIRADOUROS

Miradouro São Pedro de Alcântara

As you know, Lisbon is a city built on seven hills. Each of the hills has a terrace prepared for visitors, from which you can admire a panorama of the whole city. The most famous viewpoints are Miradouro de Nossa Senhora do Monte – the highest hill in Lisbon, Portas do Sol and the most adored by students for night meetings Viewpoint of Santa Catarina. These places are in different areas of Lisbon but all of them are worth a visit. You must absolutely take a panorama photo of the whole city. The most beautiful photos you can do while admiring the sunset on the hill!

SINTRA

Quinta da Regaleira

This is the ultimate instagramable place around here. The whole town is an authentic fairy tale, it has palaces, gardens, castles and it’s fully green due to its huge forest area. It is totally worth to visit for at least a day and it will fill your social media with color!
