Discover the spectacular and beautiful city of Lisbon through a half-day tour of the most emblematic monuments of the Belem neighborhood, inspired by the Manuelin architectural style.
Belem is the historical neighborhood of the Discoveries, the starting point for the discovery of the world for a lot of seafarers like Vasco de Gama in the XV century. A lot of the monuments were influenced by certain periods of the Discoveries, such as the discovery of the Indian Sea Route, the opening of trade with Japan, and the colonization of Brazil and parts of Africa and Asia.
In Belem, come to know about the Belem Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries and the Jerónimos Monastery, the most visited monument in Portugal (you could visit the church), all classed in UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also, the National Palace of Ajuda, a neoclassical building from the first half of the XIX century which was the royal family’s official residence from 1861 until the end of the Monarchy in 1910.
